Esta forma\u00e7\u00e3o para a Miss\u00e3o Benguela foi orientada para os volunt\u00e1rios que ir\u00e3o integrar a equipa no terreno.
A sess\u00e3o formativa teve como objetivo preparar os participantes para a realidade social, educativa e cultural da
comunidade onde ir\u00e3o atuar, com o apoio de respons\u00e1veis ligados ao projeto.
Durante a forma\u00e7\u00e3o, foi apresentada a realidade da escola local de Benguela, uma infraestrutura que acolhe
crian\u00e7as e jovens dos 5 aos 15 anos, at\u00e9 ao ensino m\u00e9dio.
Embora a miss\u00e3o decorra durante o per\u00edodo de f\u00e9rias escolares, os jovens permanecem na comunidade, o que
permitir\u00e1 a realiza\u00e7\u00e3o de atividades com este grupo.
Alguns dos volunt\u00e1rios ter\u00e3o como responsabilidade desenvolver workshops e apresenta\u00e7\u00f5es com estes jovens,
sendo por isso relevante conhecer o funcionamento da escola e os recursos dispon\u00edveis, nomeadamente a
exist\u00eancia de um projetor, que poder\u00e1 facilitar a comunica\u00e7\u00e3o e dinamiza\u00e7\u00e3o das sess\u00f5es. A Irm\u00e3 Ver\u00f3nica foi
identificada como a respons\u00e1vel local pela \u00e1rea da educa\u00e7\u00e3o, sendo uma figura-chave na articula\u00e7\u00e3o com a
equipa de voluntariado.
Em rela\u00e7\u00e3o ao enquadramento socioecon\u00f3mico, foi referido que o bairro onde se desenvolver\u00e1 a miss\u00e3o \u00e9
pobre, mas apresenta alguma estabilidade, o que contribui para um ambiente prop\u00edcio ao trabalho
comunit\u00e1rio.
Foram tamb\u00e9m abordadas recomenda\u00e7\u00f5es pr\u00e1ticas. Devido \u00e0 presen\u00e7a de mosquitos, foi refor\u00e7ada a
necessidade de utilizar redes mosquiteiras, repelentes e outras medidas de preven\u00e7\u00e3o. Os volunt\u00e1rios foram
alertados para a import\u00e2ncia de manterem os seus pertences sempre consigo e estarem atentos a eventuais
tentativas de burla, apesar de a zona n\u00e3o ser das mais perigosas do pa\u00eds em termos de criminalidade.
O alojamento onde os volunt\u00e1rios ficar\u00e3o localiza-se pr\u00f3ximo do mar e disp\u00f5e de \u00e1gua tratada e cozinha
equipada, embora n\u00e3o haja acesso \u00e0 internet.
A forma\u00e7\u00e3o terminou com uma videochamada com uma irm\u00e3 (freira) da zona de Benguela, permitindo aos
volunt\u00e1rios colocar quest\u00f5es, esclarecer d\u00favidas e iniciar um primeiro contacto com a realidade local. Esta
intera\u00e7\u00e3o foi essencial para fortalecer o esp\u00edrito de miss\u00e3o e criar la\u00e7os com algumas das pessoas com quem
ir\u00e3o colaborar diretamente no terreno.

This session for the Benguela Mission was aimed at the volunteers who will be part of the team on the ground.
It aimed to prepare the participants for the social, educational, and cultural reality of the community where they will
be working, with the support of individuals involved in the project.
During the session, the reality of the local school in Benguela was presented. The school serves children and young
people aged 5 to 15, up to secondary education.
Although the mission will take place during the school holiday period, the young people remain in the community,
which will allow for the implementation of activities with this group.
Some of the volunteers will be responsible for delivering workshops and presentations to these young people,
making it important to understand how the school operates and what resources are available\u2014namely, the existence
of a projector, which may facilitate communication and the delivery of sessions. Sister Ver\u00f3nica was identified as the
local person in charge of education, and she will be a key figure in coordinating with the volunteer team.
Regarding the socioeconomic context, it was mentioned that the neighbourhood where the mission will take place is
poor but relatively stable, creating a favourable environment for community work.
Practical recommendations were also shared. Due to the presence of mosquitoes, the use of mosquito nets,
repellents, and other preventive measures was strongly advised. Volunteers were also warned of the importance of
keeping personal belongings with them at all times and being cautious of possible scams, even though the area is not
one of the most dangerous in the country in terms of crime.
The accommodation where the volunteers will stay is located near the sea and has treated water and a functioning
kitchen, although there is no internet access.
The training concluded with a video call with a sister (nun) from the Benguela area, allowing volunteers to ask
questions, clarify doubts, and begin building a first connection with the local reality. This interaction was essential
in strengthening the spirit of mission and in creating bonds with some of the people they will be working with
directly on the ground.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
